Meet my mother

press release

November 24, 2025

"A mother's love is peace. It isn't just a memory it lives on, forever etched our hearts."

Devoted author, Dr. John Ayoola Akinyemi, introduces his new biography Meet My Mother: Portrait of My Quintessential Consumate Mother, delivering heartfelt stories to remind us what a good influence a mother can be. They are the actual superheroes you see everyday. With love that deserves to be honored across cultures and generations. Published by The Eagle Literary, Dr. Akinyemi honors the memory of his late mother and reflects on how she was his first teacher and thanking her for being his lifelong guide to become what he became today.

“Quintessential” is not just some big word, it means “one of a kind”, like our mothers. She whose place no one else can take because you can’t have another loving and caring mother like yours. Told in a warm, storytelling voice, Meet My Mother explores what it means to be a quintessential mother a title the author bestows upon his own mother, whose steadfast faith, calming presence, and boundless love shaped the lives of her nine adult children. Drawing parallels between his mother’s life and timeless biblical stories, Dr. Akinyemi reflects on the power of prayer, the importance of spoken words, and the ability to find stillness amidst life’s storms.

Dr. Akinyemi recalls the family devotions from his childhood in Nigeria, where they read about Jesus calming the sea during a violent storm. Like Jesus, his mother modeled faith and peace, always reminding her children, “Have you prayed about it?” and affirming, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

This memoir is not just a story about one woman it is a tribute to all mothers: those who give more than they have, who love without limits, and whose job is never truly done. Dr. Akinyemi honors mothers of every race, religion, and background, reminding readers that regardless of who we are or where we come from, we were all brought into the world through the sacrificial love of a woman.

Akinyemi’s message is simple but powerful: we can never repay enough money we owe to mothers. This book is his offering of gratitude not only to his own mother but to all mothers around the world.

“A Hero at 13: Courage, Compassion, and the Ultimate Act of Bravery”

This 13-year-old literally placed his body on a six-year-old, who was yelling, crying, for fear that he might be shot dead. The two of them were about an arm’s foot apart, under a pew as their shelter. Luckily, neither of them was killed that day.

What struck me most, and what I would like to emphasize about this video are the following:

My emotions at that time were a standing ovation for what is unfolding right before my face as I watched this clip. That’s what I call “GRATITUDE” That’s what I would like to share with the world; the example of this heroic thirteen-year-old; his bravery his giving-all he is and all he has, at that moment, even at the risk of losing his own life! What a hero, he is! As I watched this clip on the TV, I recalled that the Bible says: “In ALL things, give thanks (to God)! ALL THINGS, AND ALL TIMES mean in chaos, in troubled times, and in EVERY SITUATION that we find ourselves. The incident was a shocking remembrance that we live in troubled times. “We, the People”, should NEVER worry that our precious little ones would kiss us goodbye when they leave for school in the morning, BUT MAY NOT RETURN TO US, because of the insane mind of people like the gunman who shot and killed, reportedly a number of innocent school children on that day. To make it worse, the incident took place inside a Catholic Church in MN. THINK ABOUT THAT: LET IT SINK IN FOR A MOMENT. WHERE ELSE IS SAFE? WE ARE LIVING IN VERY TROUBLED TIMES, FOLKS!

I believe that the example of the heroism, bravery, valor, and empathy shown by this thirteen-year-old is a prime example what ALL PEOPLE should emulate. This thirteen-year-old is worthy of our highest esteem and accolades.

KUDOS TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY FOR RAISING HIM THE RIGHT WAY.

I STAND AT HIGH ATTENTION TO SALUTE HIM AND HIS FAMILY.

BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES,  — Dr. John Akinyemi’s new book, “Sixty-Two Years Later,” captures his unique perspective on America, reflecting on his life since arriving as a young foreign student at the age of 21 in 1963. Entering the U.S. on an F-1 Student Visa, Dr. Akinyemi has witnessed a range of historical events, including the presidencies from John F. Kennedy to Donald J. Trump, who was recently inaugurated as the 47th president on January 20, 2025.

In his earlier book, “I Am Scared, VERY SCARED!”, published just two weeks before the presidential election, Dr. Akinyemi shared his concerns with the American public. He expressed fears about a perceived loss of democratic governance, a sentiment that he feels resonates more strongly now. He states, “America has spoken; ‘We, the People’ have chosen Donald J. Trump for a second term. We have made our bed; now we MUST lie on it.”

As he reflects on his journey, Dr. Akinyemi reminisces about businesses that have disappeared since his arrival, such as Sears and Roebuck, Montgomery Ward, and Howard Johnson’s Restaurant. He also remembers exactly where he was when President Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. were assassinated in 1964 and 1968, respectively. His life in America has been intertwined with these significant historical moments, shaping his view of the country.

An unforgettable experience for Dr. Akinyemi was driving through Petry Bridge years later, a site that holds deep historical significance related to the civil rights movement.

In “Sixty-Two Years Later,” Dr. Akinyemi invites readers to reflect on the changes he has witnessed and the enduring
impact of America’s choices. The book is set to spark conversations about the past, present, and future of American

'I Am Scared, VERY SCARED!' by Dr. John Ayoola Akinyemi

press release

October 18, 2024

"We, the People" have the power and the choice to make democracy work in the greatest nation on Planet Earth.

BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES,   — In his recent discussion on the principles of governance and democracy, Dr. John Ayoola Akinyemi passionately addressed skepticism regarding his qualifications to speak on U.S. governance. “You may question my experience in government and the legitimacy of my perspective,” he remarked, emphasizing the validity of his insights as a seasoned observer of democracy. “To answer your last question first, it’s a BIG deal to me.”

At 82 years old, Dr. Akinyemi has devoted his life to witnessing the evolution of democracy in the United States, from the presidency of John F. Kennedy in 1963 to Joe Biden in 2024. His extensive experience spans decades, providing another point of view from which he views American politics. “I may not have formal experience in government, but I certainly know how to recognize a good government,” he asserted, noting his 25 years of service in the U.S. military as a civilian, not as a uniformed officer.

I Am Scared! Very Scared!

Dr. Akinyemi spent the first 18 years of his life under British monarchy rule. This experience, he claims, has further informed his appreciation and understanding of democratic principles and practices. “Living in a democracy has been an enlightening journey,” he stated, “and I know that democracy works because I have lived under different forms of governance.”

His reflections on governance are intricately tied to his latest publication, “I Am Scared! Very Scared!” In this book, Dr. Akinyemi discusses how fear and empowerment affect politics. He shares personal stories and looks at history to show why democratic values are strong and important. His goal is to motivate readers to get involved in their government and understand that their voices can help shape the future.

Dr. Akinyemi’s perspective serves as a reminder that the essence of democracy is not solely found in government positions but in the lived experiences and voices of citizens. As he shares his thoughts in his work and talks, he encourages everyone to understand that anyone can help govern a country, no matter their background or job title.

ORLANDO, FL, UNITED STATES,   — In a heartfelt new book, Lois Lund seeks to guide others facing similar challenges related to mental health and emotional well-being, especially military veterans for she is also a veteran. Drawing from her own experiences with a bipolar disorder diagnosis during her service, Lund offers insights aimed at helping both veterans and civilians who struggle with mental or emotional issues.

Her journey has been a three-decade search for the right medication, underscoring the isolation that many individuals with mood disorders often experience. At times, she felt like a victim of her circumstances. She acknowledges that there are programs available for both veterans and civilians dealing with mental health challenges. While some individuals find out about their conditions early in life, she struggled with acceptance, often rebelling against her diagnosis. Throughout her journey, she has received support from social workers and nurses.

The author reflects on her lifelong experience with bipolar disorder, noting that she comes from a busy family. Lund
found herself involved in sports and music and credits her mother for helping her pursue a college education, where
she excelled academically. Her mom was once a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse, and her influence extended
beyond academics; she also instilled in her a strong sense of faith and the importance of correct grammar, which she
learned through their church activities. She expresses gratitude for her upbringing, acknowledging the blessings of
having God-believing parents on both sides of her family.

Despite the challenges posed by her condition, the author emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance and the role
of medication in managing symptoms. She recognizes that while some days are harder than others, the support from
available programs for veterans has been instrumental in her healing journey.

“In my bibliography are three sources of literature that I have listed. I have read several other books too.” Lois Lund added.

With a message of perseverance and hope, the author expresses her desire for others to discover the same solace she has found. She acknowledges that she still faces challenges, but she believes in the power of living and learning. “Someday I’ll have a new brain, and I’ll be very happy when I go to glory,” she states.

Tiger Lily by Noel-Anne Brennan's Captivating Novel Explores Love, Loss, and Resilience

press release

October 01, 2024

Noel-Anne Brennan’s Gripping Tale Explores Themes of Survival and Unity in a Transformed World

WAKEFIELD SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI, UNITED STATES,  — In her latest novel Tiger Lily, author Noel-Anne Brennan delves into the complexities of family, identity, and the ethical quagmire posed by genetic mutations in an alternate modern America. At the heart of this gripping narrative is Lily Mossberg, a seemingly ordinary anthropology lecturer who possesses an extraordinary secret: to be able to transform into a tiger. This ability is due to a sudden rash of genetic mutations, a “psi plague”, of which shape-shifting is a rare and virtually unstudied variant.

Brennan weaves a compelling story where Lily’s struggles are increased by the ambitions of her ex-husband, a powerful head of a pharmaceutical company who is ignorant of her ability. As he seeks ways on making money off the new psi “disease”, he also pursues custody of their apparently normal nine-year-old daughter, putting Lily into a conflict that extends beyond personal grievances and into the realm of corporate greed.

Tiger Lily by Noel-Anne Brennan

The stakes are raised further when government officials launch a public health mandate on eliminating these genetic mutations. Lily must struggle to keep her secret and save herself and her daughter from these competing interests even as the realisation grows that there may be a sinister collaboration between them.

As if the pressure of protecting her family weren’t enough, the plot thickens with a series of mysterious murders that bear chilling hallmarks that do not have an entirely human signature. Here, introduces an investigator from the federal Psi Special Unit, who is tasked with unraveling these bizarre crimes. Lily finds herself both investigating and investigated, determined not to fall in love again but drawn to the detective who is supposed to investigate the murders. With this evolving relationship adding an additional layer of
complexity to the storyline.

In “Tiger Lily,” Noel-Anne Brennan adeptly fuses speculative fiction with real emotional stakes, prompting readers to reflect on the implications of genetic evolution and personal autonomy in modern society. The novel serves as a compelling reminder of the lengths to which one will go to protect loved ones in a world marked by rapid change and moral ambiguity.

As Brennan unfolds this riveting tale, readers are left to ponder pressing questions surrounding identity, family loyalty, and the ethical ramifications of scientific exploration. In an engaging blend of action and introspection, “Tiger Lily” promises to resonate with anyone contemplating the balance between survival and the cost of secrecy.
